Some new and exciting things are happening!
My story, written by Mayo Clinic staff, is featured in the “Sharing Mayo Clinic” blog! Check it out! Here is a link to the story.
I was honored to be selected as a 2018 Woman of the Year candidate for the Arizona Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It was exciting to be part of a dynamic team that raised a record $1.282 million to fund blood cancer research and assistance for blood cancer patients in Arizona. Here’s the incredible team I was part of.
The culmination of the fund-raising campaign was a gala on June 9, 2018 with 1300 people in attendance. I was honored to be chosen to give the keynote speech that night and gratified to see the response from the attendees to my speech, from additional donations to thank yous from attendees for speaking to their hearts. This is a picture of some of the generous, caring people enjoying the evening.
My personal highlight from that evening is when I was given the 2018 Mission Award, given to the one who embodies the spirit of the LLS mission. It was humbling to be selected for such an honor.
